Looking for a unique liveaboard floating home on Vancouver Island? How about a well designed 1989 2 bedroom, 2 storey 65' ex-paddlewheeler with a total 1,300 square feet of living space with gleaming wood floors and ceilings, and including a sunroom, workroom, and an elevator! Yes you read correctly an elevator.
Originally built in Delta B.C. with a 5' paddlewheel powered by a 50 horsepower Lister diesel engine with a maximum speed of 4.5 knots she was used to run frim Delta up the Fraser River to Harrison Lake. After 5 years of good service she was sent down the Fraser to Victoria and then on to Ladysmith where the undersized paddlewheel and engine were removed. The pocket for the paddlewheel still remain and plans were drafted at one time to install a larger 12' X 12' paddlewheel and a low pressure pellet fired steam boiler.
Perhaps the new owner may complete the fabrication and have the finest paddlewheeler on the West Coast.
